Hope

Sometimes I'm barely holding on
To hope
To belief in Your kindness
When I am in the darkness
Of my own making
Or the world's
Or when I come close to bring a light
With an unfinished candlestick
And find it flickers there

And sometimes the mist is kissed away
By gentle morning's graze
And I can clearly see again

Caught in the tempest
Elements colliding and letting go on you
It can feel as though that's all there is
And how easy it is to be mired in

But if viewed from mountains looking down
The clouds are but pockets in the sky
The Sun is obscured but always there
Dying to reach out
To warm all that is below
