Let's Begin Again
I've fallen again
I'm hidden again
I feel the soul discordance
Like a tree that ceases to
Catch light and access water
Where did I lose my way?
My bereft soul
Begins it's backtrack
Yet again
I want a life in union with you
Living Water welling up in me
To eternal life
But how often I go
To broken cisterns
And don't realize it
Until I thirst
You let us go
You let us go
Little stray sheep
Runaway children
You give us freedom to choose
So You may be chosen
So You may be chosen
Sin is braided into my flesh
And the world never lets up it's gravity pull
Am I doomed to fail?
You knew it was so
So fought for me
Yes, you've already championed this battle in my stead
May I be strive to be alive
In the life that I've already been gifted
When my eyes stray from Your face
And I feel so far away
As I slip into the storm
Please catch my outstretched hand
Even if that's all that's left
And let's begin again.
