An Important Choice to Make

I feel compelled to ask
When will you be ready?
You believe but when will you begin.

To be a disciple
To commit your soul is a big decision
But it's the beginning of life
I don't want you to rush, and I do

It's like jumping off Niagara Falls and landing in loving arms
It's like the beginning of a indescribable journey
That winds it's ways through mysterious caverns
Yet somehow still knowing where you'll end

Like this incredible tension
Of a continual surrender of will
A new sacrifice to lay down daily on Mount Moriah
Being willing to let go of that which feels most important
And being given back more than you can comprehend

Lift your eye to the sky and notice
The sun waking the eastern horizon
The tenderest, kindest of blues
A sunset that will break your heart
A vast galaxy, an infinity of stars
If someone made this for us
Crafted and spread it in ever-changing and loving intricacy for all to see...

And then wrote a book
The pages written in our world's past
Confirming that His love is never-ending for you...

He wanted us to know even before He made the matter and mass of us
That He loves us
He planned before the earth hung in orbit on its axis
To tell us the story of His love that has no boundaries, knows no bounds
It's one in which a man is born
Suddenly confined to time and space
Humble beyond belief
And shows us who He is
In the only way we can grasp, as one of us

And then tells us at Moriah to step aside
You can never afford the price
Of unity with me, a lost life remade clean

And in a way which words fail to convey
An innocent man condemned to die
Suffered the death of my wretched self

Now, this tender man
The man that accepted water from an outcast and offered her an eternal cup of hope
Who opened His arms to and blessed brushed aside children
And made time for an "unclean" woman when an important man called
A man who felt the crush of humanity's pain and wept

He asks you now
He asks you every day
To give your all for Him
And when you do,
What looks heavy is surprisingly light

And He never said it would be easy
Or there won't be struggle
That He will work things out "our way"
But He promises us true good
Strength and light in the dark places
And at the end of life,
The place where we make this most important choice,
An everlasting home built in eternity with Him
